Share

28 high school teams now play 8-man football in Illinois and the sport continues to be governed by the Illinois 8-Man Football Association. The president of the group is John Lalor (LAW-lur). He was asked about the IHSA eventually assuming oversight of the sport.

Friday marks the fifth state championship in 8-man football in Illinois as (10-2) Ridgewood battles the (12-0) Amboy/LaMoille co-op at April Zorn Memorial Stadium on the campus of Monmouth College. Kickoff is set for 7:00. West Central won the 8-man title at April Zorn last season.
