The Monmouth College women’s soccer team placed three players in the Midwest Conference teams on Friday and were also named the Team Sportsmanship Award winners.

Senior Madison Walker (Vernon Hills, Illinois) was named to the first-team, the second All-Conference honor of her career. She was also a first team selection and Newcomer of the Year in 2021. Walker scored nine goals in 14 games and added three assists for 21 points on the season. She led the Scots in shots, shots on goal and tied for the team lead in goals.

“Madison’s career speaks for itself,” said coach Lucas Henderson. “She has been a consistent threat to score for three years for our program.”

Freshman forward Danielle Beach (Geneseo, Illinois) was named to the second team. Beach tied Walker with nine goals and led the team with nine assists and 27 points. She finished in the top three in the MWC in goals, assists and points on the season. Beach put 73% of her shots on goal and also led the Scots with two game-winning goals.

“Danielle is a complete attacking player who really opened things up for us this season in a way we haven’t seen since 2019,” said Henderson

Sophomore Avery Parks (Bloomington, Illinois) was also named to the second team for a second straight season. She started all 16 games this season and played all but six minutes of the campaign. With 1434 minutes played, Parks tied for the team lead in minutes and was a force in the back line for the Scots all season.

“I’m not sure you can point out a more important player to us than Avery,” said Henderson. “She neutralizes the oppositions best player and leads from the back.”

The Scots finished in fifth place in the conference with a 3-4-1 MWC record. Overall the Scots were 5-8-3 this season, the third under Coach Henderson.
