Schools, businesses, municipalities, and residents in Monmouth and the surrounding communities have experienced three power outages of two hours or more in a two-day span due to Ameren experiencing equipment failure. Outages extended from Monmouth to as far as Saint Louis and Champaign-Urbana. Power was restored on Monday afternoon around 2 pm for the Monmouth area.
