Juan J. Shipp, aged 52, of Lockport, Illinois, died on December 25, 2023 in the emergency room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Juan was bon June 9, 1971 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Cecilia Cervantez Shipp. After graduating from Galesburg High School, Juan went on to attend Wyoming Tech. He worked on the natural gas pipeline for many years, currently working as a crew leader for Kinder-Morgan.

Juan leaves behind his cherished mother, Cecilia Shipp of Henderson, Illinois, who he visited as often as possible. Two brothers, Jim (Teddi) Shipp and Mark (Jeanette) Shipp both of Galesburg; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Juan was an avid collector of cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed working on them as much as he did riding or driving them. He was a fan of WWE, enjoyed taking vacations, and spending time with his friends. He also had a great love for animals.

The rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
