Macomb Man Charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse

In October of 2023, the Macomb Police Department took a report of a Sexual Assault which had occurred in May of 2022. The allegation reported an adult male had sexually assaulted a juvenile female within Macomb, IL. An investigation was conducted, and the suspect was identified as Willie J. Hughes (24, Macomb, IL). The case was presented to the McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office who requested a warrant for Hughes’s arrest, charging him with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

On December 16th, 2023 Hughes was taken into custody on the warrant by the Macomb Police Department. Hughes is currently detained at the McDonough County Jail pending a preliminary hearing on January 10th, 2024.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
