Monmouth Fire Chief Casey Rexroat Reminds Generators are to Remain Outdoors When in Use

When it comes to using portable generators, Monmouth Fire Chief Casey Rexroat reminds they are to remain outdoors while in use:

“If you do have a portable generator, make sure it stays outside. By outside I don’t mean outside of the house in the garage, I mean completely outside of the house because those do create carbon monoxide when they are running. They can fill your house with carbon monoxide and actually cause some sickness or injuries.”

Chief Rexroat advises that when selecting a generator for your home to make sure you look into the power source it needs and can operate, as portable generators are not made to power an entire house.
