The Monmouth-Roseville Titans Boys basketball team is moving on in the championship side of the bracket of the Macomb Western Holiday Tournament. The Titans played in the nightcap of day 1 on Thursday night, taking on the Illini West Chargers. M-R would fall behind early, trailing 24-17 at halftime, but a second half rally would end up sealing a 43-36 win for the Titans. The Titans had 3 players hit the double digit scoring mark, with Ayden Almaguer scoring 11, and Darrion Smith and Tyler Finnicum both adding 10 points. The win for the Titans now sets them up with a big matchup tonight, as they will take on the top seed in the tournament, the Camp Point Central Panthers in the final game of day 2 at 9:30.

Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Friday morning, Monmouth-Roseville Head Coach Jake Sottos says the team is expecting a physical game with a chance for the Titans to prove they are a top team in the area.

Tonight’s game between the Monmouth-Roseville Titans and Camp Point Central Panthers will tip-off from Western Hall on the campus of Western Illinois University at around 9:30 PM. You can hear all the action live on Sunny 97.7 WMOI or online at radiomonmouth.com beginning with the pregame show at 9:15.
