Eva Delores Bainbridge, 90, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg.

Eva was born April 10, 1933 in Jamestown, Missouri, the daughter of Walter L. and Neoma Marie (Black) Bennett. She married Richard Bainbridge and later married George E. Johnson.

Eva is survived by two sons, George David Johnson of Galesburg and Richard Bainbridge of Cambridge, Illinois; three daughters, Kim Bainbridge of Kewanee, Illinois, Susan Bainbridge and Tina Bainbridge both of California; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Larry (Melody) Bennett of Galesburg; and two sisters, Joanne Peterson and Peggy Kraynac both of Wataga, Illinois. Along with her parents, Eva was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Hazelbower; and two brothers, Bill and Rex Bennett.

Eva worked as a nurses aide over 20 years in several different health care fields. She enjoyed gardening and travel. Eva will be long remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, as well as being a devoted sister.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
