Harvard’s New Interim President Is Rock Island Native

 Harvard University’s new interim president is a Rock Island native.  Provost and chief academic officer Alan Garber was chosen to serve as interim president until a permanent replacement can be found former Harvard President Claudine Gay, who resigned Tuesday following allegations of plagiarism.  Garber graduated from Rock Island High School in 1973.  He is an economist and physician who studies methods for improving healthcare productivity and healthcare financing.
