Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 7, 2024:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls bowler, Olivia Register. Bowling on the Monmouth-Roseville/West Central co-op team, Olivia had a great day at the Abingdon-Avon Invitational. She rolled a 6-game series of 880, which was good enough for 7th place individually. Olivia also posted the 8th best single game of the tournament with a 178.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Cameron Anderson. Cameron led her team in scoring average in a pair of big wins last week. She averaged 10 points in wins over Ridgewood and BPC. Cameron was deadly from long range, making 6 of her 14 shots from beyond the 3-point arc.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Peyton Woodbury. Peyton was solid all week long for the Heat. He averaged 14 points in three games, including a season-high 15 in a narrow loss to Galva. Peyton also seems to be heating up from long-range, making a total of six 3-pointers.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys diver, Andrew Peterson. Andrew set a new school record in the 1-meter diving event last week, scoring a 275.4. He also set a meet record while taking 1st in the Normal Ironman Invite. Earlier this season, Andrew won the highly competitive Richwoods Invitational.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior girls bowler, Ella Tucker. Ella has had a fantastic season so far, with several top-10 tournament finishes. She placed 4th overall in the A-Town Invitational on Saturday. Earlier this season, Ella was 6th overall in the Geneseo Invite over the holiday break and was 4th in the highly competitive, 20-school Abe Lincoln Tournament in early December.
