The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team’s postseason opener will be a rematch of its regular-season finale.
The Chargers, who won a share of the Arrowhead Conference title in the regular season, earned the No. 4 seed in Region 4 Division II and will host 13th-seeded Olive-Harvey at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at John Lewis Gym in the quarterfinals of the District A tournament.
Sandburg (21-9) closed out the regular season with a 78-73 road victory over the Panthers (9-18) last Thursday.
The winner of Thursday’s contest advances to the semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Valley against the winner between No. 5 Milwaukee Area Technical and No. 12 DuPage. The tournament championship is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 9, also at Rock Valley.
The winner of the Region 4 Division II District A tournament qualifies for the NJCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship, which will take place March 18-23 in Joplin, Mo.

The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team will hit the road Thursday to open the postseason.
The Chargers finished the regular season as the No. 13 seed in Region 4 Division II and will open the District A tournament with a quarterfinal matchup at 7 p.m. Thursday at fourth-seeded McHenry County.
Sandburg (14-16) played at McHenry County on Dec. 21, and the Scots (22-8) came away with a 90-76 victory.
