The Monmouth-Roseville boys basketball team returned to action on Friday night, traveling up to Morrison to take on a TRAC-West rival in the Mustangs. In a tough one for Monmouth-Roseville, the Mustangs would jump out of the gate hot and didn’t look back, as the Titans fell 64-42 on the road.

A 5-4 lead for the Titans would be their only lead of the game, as Morrison rattled off 13 straight points to take the game to 17-5 after one quarter. A better second quarter for Monmouth-Roseville would see the Titans cut the Mustangs lead down to 28-20 after a full half of play. A strong third quarter from Morrison’s Daeshaun McQueen and Brenden Martin pushed the Mustangs lead to 17 after three quarters, and an equally strong 4th quarter from Martin pushed the game out of reach for the Titans, as they fell to a hot Morrison ball club 64-42.

In the stat book for Monmouth-Roseville, Jake Steele led the way for the Titans with 8 points, while Darrion Smith and Ayden Almaguer had 7 points a piece. The loss for the Titans drops their overall record to 13-13, and they will look to rebound on Tuesday with another road contest with the Sherrard Tigers.
