(MONMOUTH,ILL) The stage is set for a big night in IHSA girls basketball, as several local girls teams will get a chance to take home a regional championship title tonight. In the Macomb regional, the two semifinal matchups were played this past Monday night at Macomb High School. In the first semifinal game at 6:00, the Canton Little Giants would pull out a thrilling 51-47 win over the hosting Macomb Lady Bombers, and in the second semifinal matchup that followed directly after, the Monmouth-Roseville Lady Titans controlled the score most of the game against the Rockridge Rockets, ultimately ending up with a 46-30 win to set up tonight’s regional championship final with Canton. Since the start of the month of January, Monmouth-Roseville has compiled a 10-3 record in 13 games played, with all 3 losses coming by single digit margins. This stretch of wins in the back half of the season helped propel the Titans to a 21-11 overall record, which makes this season their 4th straight full season with 20+ wins, however now with the regular season in the rearview mirror, Lady Titans Head Coach Scott Weber has just one streak in mind, as he looks to make this season the second straight year with a regional title for the Monmouth-Roseville girls program. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Wednesday morning, Coach Weber discussed how the Titans experience with a tough schedule has gotten them ready for tonight’s matchup with 24-8 Canton.

The Monmouth-Roseville girls ended last season with their first regional championship win in school history, with a 65-53 win over the Princeton Tigers. Tonight’s Monmouth-Roseville vs Canton regional championship game will tip-off from Macomb High School at 7:00. You can hear all the action from that postseason contest live on AM 1330/FM 95.7 WRAM, and online at radiomonmouth.com, pregame show coverage will hit the air at around 6:45.
