Niabi Zoo Unsure About Opening Day After Snow Storm Damage

Share

The February thaw is showing just how much damage there’s been this winter at the Niabi Zoo. Zoo managers say the roof of the big cat exhibit collapsed, while the netting at the bird exhibit was stretched to dangerous levels, and the lorikeet hut completely collapsed. There was damage to other exhibits as well, including the owl exhibit, and the guinea pig enclosure. The Niabi Zoo was supposed to open on April 15th, but zookeepers say that might not happen.
