Scots Win 17 Events at Roger Haynes Invitational on Saturday

The Monmouth College track and field teams hosted the Roger Haynes Invitational on Saturday with 17 overall wins and nearly 40 personal bests. Midwest Conference foes Illinois College, Beloit and Knox attended the meet as did William Woods and Sauk Valley CC.

Women
Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) won both the shot put and the weight throw. In the shot she threw 12.57 with teammates Gracie Gibbons (Altona, Illinois) in second at 12.34m and Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) in third at 12.11m. Boley won the weight at 15.61m with Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) in second at 14.86m and Gibbons in third at 13.81m

Madison Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) won the long jump at 5.15m. Miranda Hursey (Hanna City, Illinois) took second in the pole vault at 3.15m. Delaney Rexroat (Monmouth, Illinois) was fourth in the pole vault at 3.00m and third in the triple jump at 10.11m. Lauren Anderson (Cambridge, Illinois) tied for third in the high jump at 1.48m.

On the track, Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) won the mile in 6:15.20 and Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) won the 3000m in 11:53.05. Carina Engst (Bloomington, Illinois) won the 400m in 1:04.81 with Nicole Hoyer (Montgomery, Illinois) in third at 1:05.75.

Makaiha Moore-Bell (Knoxville, Illinois) was second in the 60m at 8.01 seconds with Rusk in third at 8.12. Danielle Johnson (Annawan, Illinois) took second in the 800m in 2:31.93. The women’s 4x400m relay team of Ally Celus (Annawan, Illinois), Engst, Hoyer and Johnson won with a time of 4:28.32. The 4x200m relay team of Rusk, Moore-Bell, Tayler Raska (Galesburg, Illinois), and Celus was second in 1:52.40.


Men
Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) won both throwing events for the Scots. He won the weight throw at 18.43m with Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) in second at 18.08m. Toberman threw 15.21m to win the shot put with Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) in second at 14.78m and Anderson in third at 14.46m.

Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) won the triple jump at 13.53m and Patrick Curry, Jr. (Chicago, Illinois) won the high jump at 1.85m. Mikey Eiker (Galesburg, Illinois) and Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) tied for third in the high jump at 1.75m. Riley Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) won the pole vault at 3.80m with Alec Mahar (Atascadero, California) in second at 2.90m. Ruffin also took third in the long jump at 6.25m.

On the track, Curry won the 400m in 51.53 seconds with Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) right behind him in 51.62 seconds. Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) won the 800 in 1:57.20 and William Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) won the 3000m race in 9:35.03. Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) was second in 9:37.75 while Neo Colter (Geneseo, Illinois) was third in 10:10.66.

Da’Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) took second in the 200m in 23.41 and third in the 60m dash in 7.03 seconds. Outlaw was third in the 200 at 23.62.

The 1600m Sprint Medley Relay team of Xavier Camper (Grayslake, Illinois), Luke Jachimiec (Aurora, Illinois), Newton and Eli Perry (Prospect Heights, Illinois) won in a time of 3:50.60. The 4x200m relay team of Patterson, Outlaw, Curry and Camper finished second in 1:32.52.

The Scots head to Jacksonville, Illinois on Friday for the Hilltop Invitational, hosted by Illinois College. The meet begins at 5 p.m.
