Terry G. Shinberger, 73, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.   

He was born on February 18, 1950 in Macomb, IL, the son of Joseph Shinberger, Sr. and Bettie Lee (Huss) Shinberger.  Terry was raised and educated in Ipava, Standard, Oquawka, and Biggsville.  He graduated from Union High School in 1968.   

Terry married Connie Sue Jones on 1968 at the Rozetta Baptist Church; she survives.   

Terry worked for Alexander Lumber Company in Oquawka for 35 years, retiring in 2004.   

Surviving Terry is his wife, Connie Shinberger of Oquawka, IL; his children, William Todd (Kim) Shinberger and Amy Sue Shinberger both of Oquawka, IL; three grandsons, Zachary Shinberger, Caleb Shinberger, Clyde Siegfried; one great granddaughter, Eloise Hazel Siegfried; one brother, Orion Joseph “Tuffy” Shinberger, Jr., and several nieces and nephews. 

Terry is welcomed at the Gates of Heaven by his parents, grandparents; one brother, Earl Shinberger; sisters, Linda Brownlee, Patricia Olson; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, and close friends.     

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Terry Shinberger Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
