The United wrestlers Jacob Penn, Carter Rothzen, and Jake McElwee, all went to sectionals last weekend, at the class 1-A Stanford/Olympia Sectional, Jacob Penn and Carter Rothzen went 0-2 in their matchups, while Jake McElwee went 2-2 in his four matches on the day. Unfortunately, the three were unable to qualify for the state series this weekend held on the campus of the University of Illinois in Champaign. Speaking on the WRAM morning show on Thursday morning, Unted Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp discussed the successful season for the boys, stating that this season was one to be proud of for the wrestling program.

Within his career Carter Rothzen has advanced to sectionals in his second year of wrestling, Jacob Penn in his freshman year has advanced to his first sectionals in high school. Jake McElwee caps off his high school career with 95 wins, and as a State Qualifier in his junior year.
