Story by Kadin Rogers

The season for the United Red Storm girls basketball team is officially over following a close 38-36 loss last night to Brimfield in the semifinals of the class 1A Annawan regional. The 2023-2024 season was one of massive improvement for the Lady Red Storm, as United improved from a 9-21 overall record last season, to a 16-12 record this year which included a 40-20 regional playoff win over Galva this past weekend. The jump in wins this year comes under 2nd year head coach Chris Olson, and just as impressive for United, the improvement comes with no seniors players, as the Red Storm have been led by the strength of 10 juniors on its varsity roster alone. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, Coach Olson discussed all of his returning juniors next year, saying it will be an exciting offseason for the United Lady Red Storm.
