It was a big day for local high school wrestling programs last Saturday, as Knoxville High School hosted a class 1A regional wrestling meet on February 3rd. The Monmouth-Roseville Titans boys wrestling team sent several wrestlers on to sectional weekend, as did the United Red Storm boys wrestling program. For the Red Storm, 4 wrestlers, 3 as starters and one alternate will advance on to the sectional tournament beginning tomorrow, with Jacob Pin, Jake McElwee, and Carter Rothzen all placing in the top three of their weight class at regional, and Mason Giddings finishing at 4th place in his weight class. Giddings will attend sectionals as an alternate for United. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, United Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp discussed all of the four United wrestlers who moved on to sectionals this weekend, saying it is an exciting time for the wrestling program.

This weekend’s class 1A Stanford Olympia regional will begin tomorrow morning and continue into Saturday.
