A-Town Tornado Boys Basketball Finishes 20-Win Season with Regional Championship Appearance

Share

With the IHSA boys basketball state finals series set for all 4 classes, many teams around the area are looking back on the 2023-2024 season. The Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes boys team started out their campaign in late November with just a 2-6 record over their first 8 games, however things would quickly change for A-Town. The Tornadoes would finish with an impressive 20 win season and an appearance in a class 1A regional title game. Some of the bigger highlights of the season for A-Town this season would be a quality win over Monmouth-Roseville in mid December, knocking off 4th seeded Pittsfield in the Macomb Western Holiday Tournament, and going on a 9 game winning streak near the end season to clinch a regional title berth.

With the focus now on off-season preparation, Tornadoes Head Coach Cory Link discussed the upcoming summer schedule for Abingdon-Avon boys basketball.

The A-Town boys basketball team will look to develop their young talent this offseason, as the program graduates seniors Kellen Hook, Carter Redfern, Drew Foutch, Weston Marler, and Asa Stegall.
