The 2023-2024 fall sports season is over at United High School after a nice run of success for all 3 fall programs. The Red Storm wrestling team ended up sending multiple wrestlers including Jake McElwee and Carter Rothzen on to class 1A sectionals, while both the boys and girls basketball teams finished with solid records. United’s boys team ended the season 16-16 with a loss to Stark County in the class 1A Williamsfield regional quarterfinals, while a very young Lady Red Storm team finished 16-12 despite having no senior players on the roster. Now the attention for United shifts to the 2024 spring sports season that officially began last Friday when the boys and girls track teams competed at Knox College. Red Storm track returns to Knox College tomorrow, when they compete in the Lincoln Trail Conference indoor meet. As for the baseball and softball seasons, Red Storm baseball gets underway on March 12th on the road against Orion, while the Red Storm softball team begins their season at home against North Fulton on March 15th. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, United High School Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp is looking to end the sports year on a high note with a successful spring showing.

The first home contest for the United baseball team is set for March 19th against the West Central Heat. For the full interview with United High School Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp, visit the Sports Podcast section.
