United Red Storm Baseball Hopes to Continue Success

The United Red Storm baseball team is looking for another year of success to add on to the recent run of quality teams that have played for the program. Last season, United finished with an overall record of 17-12, with an 8-3 mark in the Lincoln Trail Conference. Their 2023 run would end however with a loss to Illini Bluffs in a class 1A regional championship game. That 2023 finish for United came after the Red Storm captured back to back regional titles in 2021 and 2022, while also eclipsing the 20 win mark in both seasons. This year’s schedule is off to a good start for United, as they opened up the regular season back on Tuesday with a 9-7 win over the Orion Chargers to start their 2024 campaign.

Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning for the first time this season, Red Storm Head Coach Ryan Molek says that with a bulk of the pitching staff from last year’s club returning to the field, the focus for the 2024 edition of the Red Storm will be to improve upon putting the ball in play.

United is scheduled to get back on the diamond tonight, when the Red Storm visit the Havana Ducks this evening at 4:30. For the full interview with Coach Molek, visit the Sports Podcast section.
