Vicki E. Medrano, 78, of Carthage, IL, formerly of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL.

Vicki was born February 20, 1946 in Monmouth the daughter of Maxin E. and Jennie F. (Hanson) Caldwell.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.

Vicki married Paul Medrano on December 19, 1987 in Crown Point, IN and he passed away on May 27, 2018.

Vicki worked at OMC Gale Products in Galesburg, EquipCo in Monmouth and later at Monmouth Nursing Home until she retired in 2018.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth.

Survivors include her children, Toni Kay (Garry Lemley) Hammond of Monmouth, Gary D. (Deann) Waddell, Jr. of Carthage, IL and William E. “Billy” Lantau of Monmouth; 9 grandchildren, Nicole (David) Taylor, Chase Brockunier, Austin (Emily) Hammond, Kathryn (Austen) Becerra, Elizabeth Shaeffer, Dustin (Maddie) Waddell, Tyler (Ally Vallee) Lantau, Corgan Lantau and Adessa Lantau and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Roger Caldwell.

A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded.  A private family interment will take place at Monmouth Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Monmouth Nursing Home or Hickory Grove Assisted Living in Carthage and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
