There’s a new federal lawsuit against Western Illinois University accusing the school of discrimination. The head of the Equal Protection Project is suing, claiming that Western is awarding scholarships based on race or gender. William Jacobson with the Equal Protection Project says federal law is clear, you cannot discriminate against anyone based on their sex or gender. He says WIU’s scholarships that are only open to certain races, or genders violate that law. Western says it hasn’t seen the specifics of the lawsuit yet.
