The Buchanan Center for the Arts in Monmouth is hosting the second annual Poetry Slam night later this month on Friday, April 26th. All performers of all ages are welcome to write an original poem and read their poem for the competition that will be held at the Buchanan Center for the Arts from 6:00-7:30 on the 26th. Every poet who reads their entry will receive a prize, however additional prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners on the night. The event was started last year with the help of Monmouth-Roseville High School junior Rowan Love. Love went in depth on how and why their poetry slam night was created.
Additionally, it is asked that all poets who enter into the competition use an original poem. For more information, you can visit the Buchanan Center for the Arts Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bcamonmouth.
