Janet L. Swank, 89, of Galesburg, died at 2:21 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, in Marigold Health Care Center.

She was born May 2, 1934, in Galesburg, the daughter of Fred and Bernice (Allen) Parkinson. She was married to P.J. Nelson. Later she married Donald E. Bean on July 15, 1967, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in January 1978. She then married Paul E. Swank on October 6, 1978, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1998.

She is survived by a son, Jeff A. (Bobbi) Nelson of Lewistown; a grandchild; and two great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Bryan Nelson; and two brothers, Donald and Merlyn Parkinson.

Janet was raised in Wataga and graduated from ROWVA High School in 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper in the banking industry and also for the Seven Lakes Condo Association while living in Ft. Myers, Florida. Before moving back to Galesburg in 1999, she had lived in Florida for 18 years. Janet enjoyed volunteering at the former Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

As Janet directed, cremation will be accorded with no service planned. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family. Online condolences and memories may be shared on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
