Since the start of 2024, City of Monmouth residents, business owners, and the city itself have invested millions of dollars back into the community, shares Communications Director Ken Helms:
“Right now we are sitting at $342,000 in permits that have went out. So, that is the value of the different residential construction that has happened since the start of the year. Public service construction total was $634,000 and year to date business construction total was $456,000. Also, there was a little over $1.1 million in the enterprise zone construction total. All those number together definitely show people are investing quite a bit in the infrastructure, so that is great to see.”
Two commercial demolitions in the City of Monmouth have also been completed on East Jackson Avenue and South Second Street as both had roof collapses due to heavy snow loads.
