The structures involved were a small unattached shed, single-family residence, and detached garage. The response included all three fire stations and the 11 personnel on duty. The central station crew pulled a pre-connected fire hose and extinguished the shed fire. The Brooks Street station crew assisted with the water supply and overhaul. The Fremont Station crew assisted with the overhaul. Minor damage to the residence’s porch and a neighboring garage due to heat was noted. No injuries to fire personnel were reported. One individual was transported by Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service to Saint Mary’s Medical Center where they were treated for smoke inhalation and released.

An emergency callback of off duty fire personnel was initiated to provide emergency coverage for the city. The damages to the structure are estimated to be $10,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Galesburg Fire Department and Galesburg Police Department. If you have any information regarding the fire, please contact the Galesburg Police Department or the Galesburg Fire Department.
