Maple City Area Partnership Bringing Unity to the Local Community

Share

With a common goal of facilitating industrial and residential growth in Monmouth, the Maple City Area Partnership, or MCAP, was formed to create and provide opportunities for new businesses and families moving into the local community. Member of the MCAP Leadership Team, Chris Gavin, shares the top priorities the group is focusing on for the near future:

“Housing is probably at the top of that list, but also just continuing to support the local businesses and try to create jobs in our number one priority. We are an agriculture based community. We have some large employers with Smithfield, OSF, Monmouth College, and Marmon Renew, and so there are some things we can build on. I think trying to understand what the needs of all of our existing businesses are really important, we need to be listening to them and see if there are ways, we can help them grow. Then do what we can to attract any new business.”

MCAP is made up of City and County Administration, local business leaders, and community advocates.
