The United Red Storm softball team is moving on to the regional semifinals. The Red Storm posted a 6-1 win over Bushnell-Prairie City in yesterday’s regional quarterfinal game at United High School. The win for the Red Storm marks the third in a row, as United also won their final regular season doubleheader against Stark County on Saturday. United’s offense has been the main catalyst for their recent success, scoring a combined 26 runs over their past 3 contests. With the Red Storm now moving on to semifinal action, they will take the trip to Stronghurst to compete in the class 1A West Central regional, taking on the host West Central Lady Heat, who boast an impressive 28-3-1 record heading into this contest.

Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Tuesday, Red Storm softball coach Marc McMahon discussed what United needs to do to pull the upset against one of the top teams in class 1A.

United’s regional semifinal game against West Central is set to begin with the first pitch at 5:00.
