CASA of West Central Illinois is the local Court Appointed Special Advocate program where volunteers speak up for and support abused and neglected children in the court system. Executive Director Kelly Radeke explains the process of becoming a CASA advocate:

“We have ongoing training classes. It is a 30-hour training course. It is virtual. It is on your own time, own your own schedule. You can do it from your couch. We make things pretty easy. You just have to be 21, have a heart for children, be able to make monthly visits with the children, and write reports for the juvenile judge. It is a really important job that they have and is very rewarding.”

CASA advocates are assigned to cases in Knox, Warren, Henderson, and McDonough Counties.
