Don’t Be That Easy Target

Share

As the summer temperatures are here, more people are out and about. Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer reminds homeowners of locking up personal belongings, so you don’t become that easy target:

“When you go to bed at night, lock all your doors, lock your garages, lock your vehicles. There are people walking around town at the wee hours of the morning trying to find that easy target. Keep all your stuff secure. Keep any expensive items out of the view if you have them in your car, put them in your trunk, take them inside, but keep your doors locked.”

During the month of May, Chief Switzer reported the Monmouth Police Department made 56 arrests, wrote 106 citations, handled 1,358 calls of service, the dispatch center handled 2,805 incidents out of the 3,447 total calls, responded to 16 accidents, and the officers worked 60 grant hours.
