From Awareness to Action Beacon of Hope’s Impact on Hospice Care

Share

Beacon of Hope Hospice has been in the local community since 1993, providing healing to patients and their families when cure is no longer an option, shares Chief Operating Officer Kandy Mecum:

“We do have a non-for-profit foundation that pays for patients that don’t have a payer source or if they have any needs that are outside what Medicare covers. There are so many people that don’t even know that they have hospice benefits through Medicare. It became kind of my mission to spread awareness of hospice care and it is just a wonderful thing. Hospice is a wonderful thing and it is not utilized near enough.”

Beacon of Hope Hospice offers services across a wide territory of Knox County, Warren County, McDonough County, into Peoria, and Nauvoo, Illinois.
