Renovations to the former Knight of Columbus Hall in Monmouth remain in progress and a Director is in place for the future Child Care Center through Jamieson Community Center. However, Executive Director Nancy Mowen shares the opening remains several months out:

“We also have a Child Care Director in place and we have been working on the property to eventually have a Child Care Center. We have the application ready to submit and then once that is submitted, I am told the process is still several months out. I know there are a lot of questions in the community, I just wanted to give people an update. We will continue with that planning process and work on getting that new program available to the community as well.”

Furthermore, Director Mowen informs very high numbers continue to be seen in their existing programs, with Senior Nutrition at an all time high. Congregate meal sites are open at the Mercer County Senior Center in Aledo, Oquawka, Stronghurst, Strom Center in Monmouth, and the Roseville Community Center, with plans in the works to open a future site in Alexis.
