The Monmouth-Roseville school board meeting took place last night and changes and additions were announced to the Titan sports programs. A swimming and diving co-op was approved with the Galesburg School District. This will give the Titan swimmers a chance to compete at additional swim meets. The co-op also enables Monmouth-Roseville swimmers to be a part of relay teams. Monmouth-Roseville has had around 2-6 swim team members on the boys and girls squads in the past. Also, the home of the Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys and girls soccer teams, Pattee Fields, will soon have lights installed around the facility. That will enable the teams to play full JV matches following varsity games and make hosting postseason matches more feasible.

Also a part of last night’s agenda of the Monmouth-Roseville School board meeting was the approval of two new varsity head coaches. IBCA Hall of Fame coach, Chuck Grant is back on the sidelines for the boys basketball program and Tim Bresnahan was approved as the new Titan varsity golf coach. Bresnahan has been the United Junior High golf coach for the past couple of seasons, as well as being a long-time basketball coach at several levels, including junior high, high school and college. Grant, an IBCA Hall of Famer in 2018, has won 461 games as a varsity basketball coach in his career. He won 294 games at Monmouth-Roseville from the consolidation’s inception in 2005 to 2021. Both Grant and Bresnahan are taking over for Jake Sottos. Sottos had to step away from coaching golf and boys basketball due to increased work obligations with his day job. Sottos will help Grant out on the sidelines this winter as a volunteer assistant when time allows.

Monmouth-Roseville superintendent Ed Fletcher was on the Wednesday WRAM Morning Show and spoke about all the good news.

Fletcher also talked about the postives of co-op the swim team with Galesburg
