Resources and Activities Available to Keep Learning Alive This Summer

To help prevent that summer slide, a decline in a child’s academic skills when school is not in session, Summer Curriculum Resources are available for kindergarten through 3rd Grade students in the Monmouth-Roseville School District, shares Lincoln Early Childhood Principal Joe Pilger:

“We put together for our kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade some summer resources and activities. There are some activities to do at home just to keep the learning going over the summer and then some tutorials on how to access our online resources. Anybody in kindergarten through 3rd grade that wants to continue their learning over the summer that is not a part of summer school can come and pick up a packet anytime between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm, Mondays through Thursdays, from now to June 27th. Just to continue to build on what they have built on already. The goal is to prevent that summer slide, which if we can curve that a little bit, then the start of next year will be a little bit ahead of where we would be otherwise, so that way we can take it even further.”

Additionally, through June 27th, Mondays through Thursdays, Summer Meals are available at Lincoln from 11:30 am to noon for Monmouth-Roseville students and their families.
