Sharon K. Gorman, age 79, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 2:58 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born January 3, 1945 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Eldred Allen and Mary Lois (Sage) Crain. Sharon was raised and educated in Monmouth, Illinois. On April 4, 1988, she married Chester A. Gorman in East Galesburg, Illinois and he is surviving.

Sharon worked for several years at Gates Rubber in Galesburg. She was also the owner/operator of two bars; the Cardinal Inn in East Galesburg, and Sharon’s Place in Monmouth. She enjoyed crocheting and painting. Mostly, Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by two daughters, Linda Wells and Christine (Dave) Root both of Monmouth, IL, two sons, James (Tonya) Barry of Monmouth, IL and Tom (Kim) Barry of Knoxville, IL, two sisters, Joyce (Dave) Malcom and Laurie (Leo) Rames both of Monmouth, IL, and two brothers, Darrell (Martha) Crain of Kirkwood, IL and Randy (Barbie) Bell of Monmouth, IL. She is also survived by many grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, daughters Angela Boyd and Galye Powers, sister, Alice Hall, and her brothers, Allen Crain and Lennie Bell.

A funeral service for Sharon Gorman will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial is being established and will be named at a later date.
