2024 Warren County Fair Rabbit Show Summary and Results

The Warren County Fair kicked off the 2024 livestock shows Wednesday morning with the rabbit and poultry shows. Braydon Decounter, Lincoln Land Community College sophomore and judging team member, was the judge for the 2024 rabbit show. He shares the quality of rabbits displayed at the Warren County Fair.

“The main thing I saw was California [rabbits] and there were a couple of New Zealand rabbits that were in the show today. [The New Zealand’s] are the same as the California’s, those are your meat breeds. So again, I was kind of hard on him a little bit since I also raised them. So you want just big wings in them, you want muscle, you want shape,” says Decounter. “A couple of other rabbits that I saw were some Mini Rex. So those are your smaller breed rabbits, they are very much known for their fluffy hair that they have and being more of a pet for them. I also saw some Netherland Dwarfs;  the same thing as the Mini Rex they’re known for other hair quality as well as being the short little compacted things that are cute as well.”

Conner Cameron

Conner Cameron of the Warren County 4-H Club found success in this year’s rabbit show showing his California rabbits. He describes what he looks for in a California rabbit.

“They have to have good hair good body, and their ears have to be black, and their nose and their tail has to be black,” says Cameron.
