25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Prairie Players Civic Theatre is proud to present, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a Tony-Award winning musical that follows an endearing group of spelling bee hopefuls as they compete to be the spelling champ. The play is being performed at Prairie Players Civic Theatre, 160 South Seminary Street in Galesburg. Production dates and times are July 12, 13, 19, 20 at 7:30 P.M. and at 2:00 P.M. on July 14 and 21. Ticket prices are $16.00 for adults and $9.00 for students.

Directed by Melissa Agar with Music Direction by Julie Agar, the production includes music and lyrics by William Finn, Book by Rachel Sheinkin, the play was conceived by Rebecca Feldman and addition material provided by Jay Reiss. The play is set in fictional Putnam County, with the musical offering a charming and insightful exploration of such universal subjects as; identity, belonging and the pursuit of excellence.

The cast includes: Olivia Rogers, Charlie Vestal, Taylor Redington, Drew Carlson, JoyLinn Reynolds, Katy Redington, Greg Herrington, and Hadley Mollman.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is presented by arrangement with JOSEF WEINBERG LIMITED on behalf of MUSIC THEATRE INTERNATIONAL of New York City and is supported by the Illinois Arts Council.
