Authorities are trying to identify a body found in the Illinois River in Peoria County. The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office was called out Saturday after the body was located in the river behind Liberty Steel in Bartonville. The body belongs to a black male and appears to have been in the river for at least 24 hours. No cause of death has been released.
