Iowa’s New, Six-Week Abortion Ban Begins Today

Share

Iowa’s six-week abortion ban goes into effect today. The Iowa Supreme Court ruled back in June that there is no right to abortion in the state’s constitution, and a judge set July 29th as the effective date for the new law. Pro-abortion groups say the law will make it more difficult for women to end their pregnancies. Illinois will continue to allow women to come across the river and get abortions, but they may have to drive a bit. The Quad Cities’ Planned Parenthood Clinic closed back in 2017.
