Local Players Help Illinois to Little League Senior Softball Central Region Tournament Title Game

West Central High School senior-to-be Addie Seitz and Macomb High School senior-to-be Kylie Robinson are playing summer softball for an Illinois team that is currently participating in the Little League Senior Softball Central Region Tournament in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The team from Illinois are vying to win back-to-back Little League Senior World Champs.

They find themselves in today’s regional championship game. Illinois has won three games this week and have outscored their opponents 40-3, including Thursday’s 13-2 win over Ohio in the winner’s bracket final. Ohio will take on Michigan in the loser’s bracket final on Friday to get a chance to play Illinois in the winner-take-all regional championship game later on Friday.

In three games in Kentucky, lead-off hitter Robinson has reached base 6 of the 10 times she’s batted, including scoring five runs. Seitz pitched a 4-inning perfect game against Kentucky on Wednesday, striking out 7 of the 12 batters she faced. Just as she did during the high school season in the spring, Addie helped herself at the plate, as well, going 4-5 with 6 rbis, a double and a home run.

The winners of the 6 regional tournaments around the United States will join 4 international teams in Delaware for the 2024 Senior League Softball World Series starting on July 29th. The world series championship is set for Sunday, August 4th. You can watch the World Series games on ESPN+
