Local Softball Players Help Illinois Advance to Little League Senior Softball World Series

The team representing Illinois in the Little League Senior Softball Central Region Tournament in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, won the tourney title on Friday afternoon. Illinois ran the table in the tournament, going (4-0) and defeating Ohio 9-2 in the championship game.

West Central High School senior-to-be Addie Seitz and Macomb High School senior-to-be Kylie Robinson are playing for Illinois. Illinois is the defending World Series champions and outscored their opponents 49-5 in the four games in this year’s regional tournament. Robinson bats leadoff for Illinois and went 1-3 in the championship contest on Friday. She reached base 8 of the 14 times she batted in the tournament. Seitz pitched a 4-inning perfect game in Illinois’ second game of the tournament against Kentucky and also garnered 5 rbis and hit a home run at the plate.

Illinois moves on to Roxana, Delaware for the World Series tournament starting today. They will join 5 other United States teams and 4 international teams. Illinos will open up World Series play tonight at 7:00 against Hawaii. All world series games will be televised on ESPN+.
