Mrs. Lucinda “Cindy” C. Curtis-Roller, 61, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 1, 2024, at her home.

Cindy was born September 9, 1962, in Galesburg, the daughter of Herbert R. and Bernadine M. (Lamb) Curtis. She married Richard “Rich” M. Roller, Sr. in 1995 in Galesburg. They later divorced.

Cindy is survived by her children, Kandi R. (Anthony) Curtis, Kristina A. Curtis and Richard M. (Samantha) Roller, Jr. all of Galesburg; her two brothers, Charlie (Tamie) Curtis and Tommy Curtis both of Galesburg; her sister, Kim (the late Butch) Curtis of Galesburg; her two grandchildren that she loved to spoil and spend time with, Melodie C. Miller and David C. Curtis-Reed. Cindy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, her cats, Buddy, Dude and Willie and all her friends at the 7th Ward. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Cindy began working for the Main Street McDonald’s while in high school. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1980 and went to work for Carhartt for fifteen years, until their closing. At that time Cindy decided to return to school, earning her certified nursing assistant certificate (CNA). She has been currently working for Blick Art Materials for the last thirteen years.

Cindy enjoyed fishing on the river, attending the Wednesday night racing in Knoxville and playing in her dart leagues. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and was often asked by her family to make her yummy potato salad. Cindy will always be known as Dynamite or Peewee to those closest to her.

Visitation is scheduled for 9:00-11:00 am Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Services will follow at 11:00 am at the chapel with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. Lucinda’s wishes were to be entombed at East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her grandchildren, Melodie and David’s education fund, checks may be made out to any of Cindy’s children. Online condolences may be offered at www.h-p-w.com.
