The Monmouth Fire Department is preparing for the Maple City Street Machines Cruise Night to provide response teams throughout the day, shares Assistant Chief Craig Cozadd:
“During the Car Show, we actually bring back off duty fire personnel to respond inside the Car Show, so we will have four firefighters on duty inside. Our daily operations will remain the same on the outside of the Car Show, but any event that happens inside, whether it be a car fire or medical problem inside the actual area would respond from inside. That makes it a lot easier for us to respond too. We use the UTV to get through there and the response is much faster that way instead of having to come from the station because it is very hard to get through town; not just in the Car Show area itself with all the attendees, but all the parking and the side streets filled up with cars, so it is just a lot easier for us to get through. We have done that for years.”
The 2024 Maple City Street Machines Cruise Night is set for Friday, August 2nd.
