Two Galesburg Natives Take Top Crowns in 2024 Li’l Miss Illinois

Two young girls represented Galesburg in the 2024 Miss Illinois Youth Program and came home with the top places. Kynleigh Fox was crowned the 2024 Li’l Miss Illinois, who is 9 years old and in 4th Grade, shares her experience:

“My experience was fun and doing all the stuff with it and going places during the pageant was fun.”

10 year old Lia Barraza Sloan was crowned 1st Runner Up of the Li’l Miss Illinois, which focuses on scholarship, style, service, and success. Lia shares the pageant was a great time and loved the part of community service:

“For my community service I am starting a platform to raise money for Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Horseback Riding so they can get an indoor area so that they can have lessons all year round.”

The Miss Illinois Youth Program in conjunction with the Miss Iowa Youth Program held a joint pageant in Muscatine, Iowa on July 14th. The Li’l Miss competition is open to ages 6 to 9 year olds, which prepares the youth for the Junior Miss, Miss Teen, and Miss pageants.
