Banking on a Cure Golf Outing Raises $9,000 for American Cancer Society’s Lifesaving Programs

Each year, leadership at Warren and Henderson County banks come together to host the Banking on a Cure Golf Outing to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The 2024 event in June raised $9,000, which was donated to the mission of the American Cancer Society. ACS Senior Development Manager Stacey Dutton says the money raised by the banks benefits everyone impacted by cancer.

“The money that they raise helps lifesaving research, which benefits everyone, no matter where you live. Then we have free patient services and support,” says Dutton. “Road to recovery helps patients get back and forth to their treatments. And then we have a Hope Lodge with large treatment facilities where a survivor and a caregiver can stay for free. That is a lodge, a home, not just a hotel room, and it’s completely free. They have a private area we know where they sleep, and then they have their own private bathroom. There are many community places throughout the Hope Lodge, where they get to meet other survivors and caregivers and do some fun activities when we know that cancer is not a fun thing to do.”

The 2024 Relay for Life of Warren and Henderson Counties will take place November 2nd at the Monmouth American Legion. The event will include a dinner, celebration of survivors, and luminaria to honor loved ones.
