Calvin A. Malcolm, age 76, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 9:42 p.m. Saturday August 17, 2024 at Addington Place in Burlington, Iowa.  He was born July 8, 1948 in Burlington, the son of Bernard and Mabel Holeman Malcolm.  He married Laura Hackney in 1972.  They later divorced.

Calvin served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was employed as a business office manager for Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Missouri, and later at Burlington Medical Center, retiring in 2005.  His hobbies included bowling and golfing.

Survivors include two daughters: Tammy (Armando) Luna of Morning Sun, IA, Renae (Cole) Huebner of Denmark, IA, two sons: Sean (Allison) Malcolm of Wever, IA, Jerad Malcolm of Denmark, IA, nine grandchildren: Ashley, Christian, Kyle, Ryan, Carlina, Austin, Caleb, Dia, and Bode,  and three brothers: Jerry (Barbara) Malcolm and Phillip (Jane) Malcolm, both of rural Carman, IL, and Roger (Mary Ann) Malcolm of Kewanee, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday August 23, 2024 in the Stronghurst Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established for the Stronghurst American Legion.  Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is assisting the family.  Please visit Calvin’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
