With the fall and winter seasons ahead, Public Relations Manager with the Western Illinois Regional Council Jamie Roth, reminds homeowners and renters of their LIHEAP program:

“It is the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. This is a nationwide program, so if someone listening is interested in this, there is probably an agency near you that offers this as well. This provides a one time payment to help eligible people with lower incomes to help them with their home heating costs. We don’t have a lot of details right now, but I can say that around October 1st is when we will start those applications up again.”

The Western Illinois Regional Council serves individuals and families in Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Warren, and Knox Counties.
