On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to 1435 Moshier Avenue in reference to a shooting incident. Officers entered the residence and found Heath D. Williams, Sr. with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided life-saving measures and Williams was transported to the St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment. Williams died at the hospital at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The Galesburg Police Department is currently investigating this case with the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office.
